Welcome to Ottawa Rugby Club!

History

Formed in 2024, the Ottawa Rugby Club (ORC) was launched to provide a gateway to the Quebec Rugby leagues to the National Capital Region encompassing both Ottawa-Gatineau and the broader Outaouais area.

Our first year of operations was a resounding success - the ORC reintroduced club rugby into Gatineau, quickly building up one of the largest senior men's and women's rugby programs in the province. Both our men and women went to the provincial finals to close out the season, and the senior women's program was promoted to Quebec Super League going into the 2025 summer season.

Our junior players won several 7s tournaments, building a strong base for rugby to continue growing in the area.

Quebec Rugby

The Quebec rugby leagues are among the best recreational rugby leagues eastern Canada. Boasting dozens of teams and many levels of competition, it offers a diversity of play that is only matched by the quality and integrity of their leagues.

In addition to a full summer season of 15s, Rugby Quebec offers a run of senior-grade 7s tournaments to keep our men and women playing as much as possible through the year.

Rugby Quebec also offers a number of high performance pathways for players at both junior and senior-level age grades, offering our players the ability to try out for regional and provincial teams.

Teams

The ORC runs senior and junior-level rugby for both men and women. 

​

Men: The men's 1st and 2nd XV teams compete in Rugby Quebec's Div 1 and Div 1 Reserve divisions, respectively. This season runs from early May until Mid-August.

Women: The women's 1st and 2nd XV teams compete in Rugby Quebec's Super League and Super League Reserve divisions, respectively. This season runs from early May until Mid-August.

Juniors: The ORC junior teams play in the Quebec junior leagues, which run from June until early August. Additionally, there are a number of high school programs in the area that operate outside of this season that players are encouraged to participate in, if available to them.
